Meet Daniel Griffin

Business Development Manager
Australia

Daniel Griffin brings over two decades of experience across sales, retail, and the automotive industry to AVW Group. Raised in a family deeply immersed in the automotive world—his father ran a successful automotive repair shop specializing in Porsche and Mercedes Benz vehicles—Daniel’s passion for cars and technology was sparked at an early age. From tinkering with early computers like the Apple II to racing cars at the World Time Attack, his journey has been a blend of technical expertise and a love for engineering.

His interest in technology started early in life. During his high school years, Daniel volunteered for his performing arts school theatre, setting up sound, lighting and video for drama performances, theatre productions and live music. This early exposure to audio-visual technology, combined with his hands-on work, laid the foundation for his later expertise in audio hardware and networking systems. Setting up live audio and lighting systems as DJ gave him an understanding of sonic design, safety and redundancy systems for both club and corporate events.

Daniel gained practical knowledge in Car Audio Installation & Tuning, Home Entertainment and Automation, Digital Transformation, and Audio Hardware Networking Management throughout his diverse career. His technical background was solidified through hands-on experience, supporting advanced in-car infotainment systems at Porsche Centre Willoughby to managing the launch of Apple products at JB Hi-Fi. As a Smart Mobility Specialist Technician at Porsche, Daniel not only handled vehicle tech integration but also trained both staff and customers in cutting-edge electric vehicle systems, troubleshooting, and infotainment. He also oversaw quality assurance for new vehicle deliveries and ensured seamless smartphone integration for modern vehicles.

Daniel’s time at JB Hi-Fi allowed him to broaden his expertise in digital transformation and audio hardware networking management. He played a key role during pivotal moments in the home entertainment industry, including the transition from CRT to digital flat-screen TVs, the shift to high-definition (HD) and 4K television, and the rise of home networking solutions. Managing both the IT and audio-visual departments, Daniel was at the forefront of smart home automation, helping customers integrate entertainment systems, modems, and networking equipment to create connected, smart homes.

His ability to bridge the gap between technical complexity and customer needs was exemplified in his approach to cross-selling, often transforming simple sales into comprehensive solutions tailored to each client’s home, work or personal devices. This deep understanding of consumer behavior and technology trends made him a critical player in JB Hi-Fi’s rollout of new product lines. Trained in Telstra systems he became a top performer in identifying customers in need of upgraded telco services. Offering the full solution was the focus providing the right hardware, software, networking and services to make everything work together.

Beyond retail, Daniel honed his skills at Hypertune, where he worked on CNC operations, fabrication, IP surveillance systems, and social media marketing, further deepening his practical knowledge of systems integration and product distribution.

Daniel’s technical insights and customer-focused approach set him apart as a trusted advisor in the industry.

In his spare time, Daniel continues to fuel his passion for racing, competing in the World Time Attack while working on his personal cars. He believes that asking the right qualifying questions and providing holistic digital solutions is the key to gaining customer trust and loyalty.
